The OSP once again hosted wheelchair tennis players

The Olympic Sport Park (OSP) hosted the National Wheelchair Tennis Championship, which has seen the highest number of players in many years, with a total of 14 competitors.

There was no surprise in the Category A individual event, Laszlo Farkas, many times Hungarian champion lost only three games in his first three matches, then won the final match 64:64 against Attila Farkas, while the bronze medal went to György Bovier making the team for the World Cup qualifiers in March.

In pairs, László Farkas / György Bovier triumphed, beating Ferenc Lelik / Attila Csiszár in the final to 64:60, while Attila Farkas / János Mézes won the bronze medal.

In Category B Tamás Pokornyi won the gold, Barbara Nebehaj became second, while the bronze medal went to Csaba Papp, before Csaba Bihar and Gergely Inczédi. Pokornyi also won in pairs, with Csaba Bihari winning over the Csaba Papp/Gergely Inczédi pair to 61:66.

The awards were handed over by the International Director of the Hungarian Paralympics Committee, Anita Dányi, the president of the Hungarian Tennis Association, Dr. Lajos Szucs, and the Chairman of the Hungarian Paralympics Committee, Laszlo Szabo.
